How to Prepare for Femirenew?

Femirenew is a nonsurgical, laser-assisted procedure that treats the symptoms of vulvovaginal atrophy.

In the body, vaginas are subject to several changes that affect their appearance and sensitivity. The birth of new life into the world through childbirth is one of the most common causes, but it is not the only one.

How Is Femirenew Performed?

Recent innovative treatments with CO2 lasers have seen the light of day in recent years. Thanks to them, a multitude of vulvovaginal atrophy symptoms are now treated with only one procedure.

It includes urinary tract area treatment, vaginal tightening, vaginal dryness, and genital whitening — all in one treatment.

The Femirenew procedure is also entirely nonsurgical. There will be no incisions involved. This makes it a great option for women with a propensity to thromboembolic events and estrogen receptor sensitivity.

Despite the procedure not requiring any incisions at all, you should know how to prepare for a Femirenew if you are looking into having one.

Steps on How to Prepare for Femirenew

The following are a set of simple steps to take care of before the procedure that will allow it to go smoothly. Please comply with all of them if you are getting the surgery.

Medical History and Vaginal Evaluation

You and your doctor will go over everything there is to know about your medical history. Allergies, conditions diagnosed, current medications you are taking, and gynaecological history.

A full vaginal exam evaluation will take place wherein the doctor will take a look at it and tell you if you are, in fact, a viable candidate for the procedure.

Your doctor will ask your permission to take before and after pictures of your vagina so you can appreciate the difference. You can accept or decline the request; it is entirely your choice.

Get Rid of the Pubic Hair

While pubic hair protects our genitals, it will obviously only get in the way of the application of the CO2 laser.

Before the procedure, get rid of all the pubic hair, you have to facilitate the application of the procedure.

Do not shave it, though. Shaving carries the risk of cutting your skin, which can lead to infection. Instead, wax it off or have it removed by laser ten days before your scheduled procedure. We can do the laser one for you as part of our services.

Schedule Time Off Sex

Your partner might not like it, but this is not about them. After undergoing a Femirenew procedure, it is necessary that you refrain entirely from sexual activity for one or two weeks.

Deal with this before the procedure so your partner has got a heads-up about what’s coming (and who won’t be “coming” as well).

And that’s pretty much it. As you can see, there’s not a lot that needs to be done to prepare for a Femirenew procedure due to it being a nonsurgical procedure.

The procedure consists of two or three different sessions performed within a month. Contact us to clear up any specific inquiry you have about Femirenew.
