People believe Joel McHale is a hair plug

This is exactly the speculation about Joel’s getting a hair plug, as he never admitted that he actually had a hair transplant or anything that would change the appearance of his hairline. However, if you ask the Internet, they’ll say otherwise because it can’t be clearer that he did something for some.

There are big differences between Joel Mchale hairplugs at the beginning of his career in the 90s and his hairline now in 2020, which points to the very low probability of regrowing hair where Joel once regressed. He can also wear some kind of hairpiece to hide the areas to the right and left of the scalp where the hair was once clearly farther back. However, the most logical explanation is hair plug treatments.

What are Hair Plugs?

Hair plugs have become a misnomer in the hair loss community in recent years.

Historically plugs hair of scalp from the donor area (typically the rear or side of the head) is collected in a round hair set. More recently, hair plugs are typically used to refer to any piece of hair removed for transplant from a donor site. Hair plugs are used in a process known as hair transplantation.

Hair Plugs and Hair Transplantation

Although you think that these are two different procedures, hair plugs are a form of hair transplantation. Hair transplantation is a group of procedures in which implants are used to cover balding areas. Joel Mchale hairplugs  like it. A hair plug is just one particular form of implant, an implant that is around hairband. With different terminology, it can quickly become confusing. Here is a useful breakdown:

Hair: This hair implant (or plugs) from a region of the scalp (donor site) to another (recipient area) itself transporting procedures.

Transplantation: It is the hair that is collected and transplanted in the form of a strip or as a single unit.

Plug: This is a type of implant. Traditionally, the stopper was rounded and contained one to eight units of hair. More recently, the “plug” is referred to as a strip, or a single unit, and more commonly as an implant.

An increased understanding of the terms will be used interchangeably throughout the plug and the implant article. This is because both terms are used publicly, but the implant or unit is mostly used by surgeons and hair transplant specialists.

Hair Plug Transplant Methods

While hair plugs were still the preferred implant, there were a number of methods used for transplantation. Here is a closer look.

Punch Graft

This method involved the use of a 4mm punch. The staple removed a roller that usually contained 12 to 30 bristles. The hair roller was then placed in a perforated area within the recipient area .This led to an unnatural look. The recipient area often looked ‘stuffy’ even after four or five treatments. However, even with an unnatural appearance, this hair transplant method has been used for more than 20 years.

Mini / Micro

Both of these graft types involved cutting a thin strip of hair from the donor area. The removal area is then stitched or stapled, leaving a narrow scar. Then a scalpel or needle is placed in the recipient area after making small incisions in the scalp. The main difference between minigraft and micrograft is the number of hairs inside each graft. The minigraft typically contains three to eight hairs, while the micrograft contains one to four hairs. Two to four sessions of miniggrafting may be required to complete the episode for best results. This is because the clefts must be spaced. This method looks less difficult, but still looks abrupt and somewhat unnatural.
