Bad habits that damage your hair

Voluminous, shiny, thick hair is the ultimate dream of every age. This is why hair loss is one of the biggest problems today. We spend hours and a great amount of money just to keep our hair healthy.

For instance, straighteners, curling irons, and bleachers are bad for your hair. These are the facts that everyone knows. The thing that you do not know is there are other little things that we do every day, and they harm your hair more. If you are noticing that you lose more hair lately, it could be a sign for you to change the little things.

1. The Sun

It is obvious that the UV rays damage our skin. Unfortunately, it has the same effect on our hair, even in the winter. The sunlight causes dryness, fades the colour and gives you split ends. You might use an SPF spray on your hair or try to wear hats when you need to stay under the sun for a long time.

2. Bun

Tight ballerina buns are never out of fashion. It does look good on your face, right, but you should think twice before you pull your hair and make a tight bun. It is not healthy to pull the follicles that hard. Specialists claim it can even cause hair loss. Tightness delivers too much stress on your delicate strands. Try not to tie your hair so tight, or try low ponytails instead.

3.The Pillow

Yes, cotton pillowcases might be nice for your skin, but they are definitely bad for the hair. One of the best things you can do for your hair is to use a silk hair pillowcase. Since they have a smooth structure and will not harm your hair.

4. Bad Shower Habits

Everyone knows that using too much shampoo and hot water damages your hair badly. You might not know that massaging your hair too harsh also distress the scalp. You shouldn’t scrub your hair with a towel to dry it off. Hair is very fragile when it’s wet; you are breaking it when you scrub it with the towel. You may use a microfiber towel instead of traditional ones.

5. Hair products

You should be looking at all of your hair product ingredients. Avoid using the ones with too many chemicals in it; try to use clean options instead. Everyone wants shiny hair, but you don’t need to achieve it by using chemicals.

6. Hair Brush

We bet you know that you shouldn’t brush your hair while it’s wet. But the quality of your hairbrush is also effective on your hair health. Bamboo brushes are the best since they are not too rigid and have a smooth structure.

7. Diet

At last, the way you eat does not only affect your overall health, but it also affects your hair. Your hair might get thinner if you are on an aggressive diet. You should try to take essential nutrients daily to keep your body and hair healthy.

On the other hand, you can increase your hair health just by switching bad habits with healthy ones. You will be amazed to see how much it changes.
