Ice Hair Transplant

There are various techniques for Hair Transplantation. One of these techniques is the technique. This technique is essentially no different from other hair transplant techniques. However, it got this name because different applications were made during the process.

What is Ice Hair Transplant?

The main feature of the ice hair transplantation technique is that the hair follicles are kept in a cold solution and protected. The strength of the hair follicles, which are protected in a special solution, increases and their life is prolonged. It is then transplanted into areas without hair, with a strengthened and extended life. There is no scar on the hair follicles in the ice hair transplantation process. The scars are so small that the scars become visible only if the patient hits his hair to zero.

Patients who have ice hair transplantation are generally recommended to rest for a day. It is expected that the transplanted hair will grow as of the third month after the hair transplant and full results will appear between 9 and 12 months.

Is There a Difference Between Ice Hair Transplantation and FUE Technique?

This hair transplant technique is not essentially independent from the FUE technique. Like all other techniques named today, the ice technique is an application difference in the FUE technique. Hair transplantation is done with the FUE technique. The difference between the ice technique from other techniques is that the hair follicles taken are kept in a cold solution. After the hair follicles are removed, it is a process performed in order not to lose their efficiency during the channel opening process. This special technique can be used not only for hair but also for procedures such as beard and eyebrow transplantation. No known side effects of Ice FUE hair transplantation have been found so far.

Who Is Suitable For Ice Hair Transplantation?

Ice hair transplantation is recommended for patients with very intense hair loss. The biggest advantage of the Ice FUE method is that it allows much more hair follicles to be transplanted in a single session. It is especially recommended for patients who need 3000 – 6000 grafts. However, there are cases where the ice cell transplantation method is not recommended. It is recommended for patients who have little hair loss yet and want to have hair transplantation between their existing hair. In such cases, the best course of action is to act according to the recommendations of experts.

Ice FUE Stages

An Ice FUE hair transplant center primarily prepares for the operation. First, the consultation is made, the front hairline is drawn and the places where hair transplantation will be made are determined. Blood tests are performed on the patient and the hair is cut to less than 1 millimeter. The donor area where the hair follicles will be taken is numbed with painless anesthesia.

Then, hair follicles are taken from the designated donor area. Without damaging the tissue, only the hair follicle that the specialist wants to take is taken. There are 2-3 hairs in a hair follicle, that is, in the graft. With the thin hair transplantation technique, it is possible to transplant 55-60 hair per square centimeter. After the hair roots are removed, they are kept in a cold solution that gives the technique its name.

Channel Opening

After the hair follicles are left in the cold solution, the channel opening phase is started. Channels are opened in the area where the hair will be transplanted. This stage is the most important stage for a successful hair transplant. The hair transplant specialist should open the channels with great care. The hair transplant specialist opens channels according to the thickness and depth of the grafts with a sharp thin tip called the lateral slit. In order for hair transplantation to have a natural appearance, the channels should be opened at inappropriate angles and directions. In operations where the required sensitivity is not shown, a natural hair image cannot be obtained.

With the opening of the channels, the hair follicles are transplanted. The grafts taken from the donor area are placed in the canals opened one by one after being kept in the solution in the Ice FUE technique. At this stage, it is very important for the hair transplant specialist to be patient. Although this phase varies according to the number of grafts to be transplanted, it takes an average of 3 hours. During the hair follicle planting phase, the comfort of the patient must be provided. At the end of the thin hair transplantation process, the donor area is bandaged. The bandage is removed by hair transplant specialists on the day of the first wash.

Ice-FUE Technical Specifications

Unlike other techniques, the Ice-FUE technique is a special technique performed without tissue removal. The hair follicle is taken directly without touching the scalp in any way. There are no traces of cuts or stitches in the area to be treated. Hair follicles are removed by opening 0.6-millimeter abrasions on average. These abrasions are closed within a maximum of 3 days. Since there is no hair transplant scar, it is very easy for the patient to regain a natural hair appearance.

In the Ice-FUE technique, grafts are taken from the nape area between the two ears. There is generally no pain after graft removal. It is known that patients recover in a short time.

Is Ice Graft FUE Hair Transplantation Painful?

With the end of the Ice FUE procedure, generally, no pain is felt. In case of mild pain, the problem can be solved with painkillers.

Advantages of the Ice Hair Transplant Technique

The Ice cell hair transplantation technique is a suitable method for almost every hair type.

With this technique, very high levels of hair follicles can be removed and transplantation can be performed.

Also, In the ice cell hair transplantation method, the structure of the hair follicles protected in the specially formulated solution is strengthened and the life of the hair is extended.

There are no stitches or scars in the thin hair transplantation technique. Also, with this method, body hair can also be removed and transplanted as hair.

Disadvantages of Ice Hair Transplantation

Hair should be shaved completely. In the internal hair transplantation technique, up to 6000 hair follicles (grafts) can be taken and transplanted into the missing areas of the patient. This can make the processing time longer than other techniques. In this method, grafts are taken from a much larger area and hair transplantation is performed on a much larger area. Also, this increases the amount of local anesthesia used.
