The Truth about Eyebrow Transplants

Do you desire lush, beautiful looking eyebrows? Well, everyone does these days. Thick, voluminous eyebrows are the biggest trend for the last decade. Eyebrows define the way we look. You may change your appearance only by changing your eyebrow shape.  They are an inseparable part of our beauty. In the circumstances, the importance of our eyebrows is an undeniable fact.

How Do They Grow?

Our facial hair has the same structure as the hair on our head. Eyebrows go through the same cycle while they grow. Nevertheless, there are three steps of hair growth; anagen, catagen, and telogen.

The anagen phase takes 30-40 days, and your eyebrows grow continuously during this time. At the catagen phase, your hair stops growing. Lastly, at the telogen phase, some of your eyebrows fall out, and new ones come under.

Under normal conditions, your eyebrows should go back to the anagen phase after the telogen. If this cycle doesn’t work as well as it should be, you may experience eyebrow loss. Some conditions such as hormonal diseases, stress or age can be the reason for hair loss.

You may also have thin eyebrows naturally or if you ever over-plucked them before they may get thinner over time. Some makeup products might make your eyebrows thicker. Unfortunately, in the long run, these products will harm your eyebrows more. Using natural oils and serums might also work, but as you stop using them, you will get your thin eyebrows back.

Micro-blading is another option to make your eyebrows fuller, but this procedure won’t be able to give you a three-dimensional or a natural look. At last, all of these problems have the same solution if you need a permanent one; eyebrow transplant.

What is Eyebrow Transplant?

The eyebrow transplant procedure is similar to traditional hair transplant surgery. This operation takes about three or four hours. It is safe and quick, and the results are very satisfying. After you decide on the shape and the amount, the surgeon will start the process.

First, your doctor will determine a donor area to extract hair follicles. The most common donor area for hair transplant is usually the backside of your scalp. After extracting the follicles and dividing them into hair grafts, the surgeon will plant the hair on your eyebrows. The planted hair will fall out after three or four weeks, and new natural-looking hair will grow back within a few months.

Recovery After Eyebrow Transplant

The recovery process of an eyebrow transplant is very quick as the process itself. There might be a very light bruising and some crusting of the skin, but they will diminish in two or three days.

You will get your natural-looking eyebrows in two or three months after the operation. This procedure has low-risk rates, and you will not feel any pain during or after the operation. Since the eyebrow transplant process requires careful work, it is important to go along with an experienced doctor and a team.
